Whether you’re passionate about Asian cuisine or looking to discover a new culinary genre, we invite you to journey across the Pacific as we explore the flavors of Asia. These elegant yet approachable recipes highlight the many spices and sauces that are central to Asian cooking, bringing a taste of the Far East to your table at Cakebread Cellars. During the class, you will learn prepare an array of dishes from Japan, Korea, Vietnam and beyond. After class, delight in sensory exploration as we pair Cakebread Cellars wines to complement the ingredients in each dish during an appetizer reception and three-course lunch. ~ MENU ~ To Start ~ Japanese Fried Tofu with Shiitake Mushrooms & Dashi · Salmon Tataki with Nori Furikake & Ponzu Sauce · Pork Belly Buns ~ At the Table ~ Lemongrass Swordfish Brochettes with Little Gem Lettuces & Creamy Herb Dressing · Korean Beef Shortribs · Fried Rice with Kimchi & Chinese Sausage · Matcha Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Sorbet ~ All classes are participation style and include the class, a tour of the winery and culinary gardens (weather permitting), an appetizer reception and a three-course lunch paired with Cakebread Cellars wines. All participants leave with a Cakebread Cellars apron, a booklet of recipes and wine notes from the day, some great memories and quite often, new friends.
