We all have our favorite memories of childhood foods: A steaming bowl of tomato soup with mom’s grilled cheese. Tuna melts on rye. Chicken noodle soup. Just the thought of these simple dishes conjures up memories of a simpler time, when playtime was outside and it wasn’t time to come home until the street lights came on. Join us as we put a gourmet twist on a few of our old favorites, bringing our memories into the modern day with elegant ingredients full of flavor. After class, enjoy the fruits of your labor during a leisurely reception and three-course lunch with the ultimate adult treat: Cakebread Cellars wine pairings. ~ MENU ~ To Start ~ Estate Flavored Popcorn · Portobello Fries with Meyer Lemon Aioli · Salmon Sliders with Piquillo Peppers & Arugula ~ At the Table ~ Tuna Confit with Fennel Marmalade & Butter Lettuces · Vadouvan Fried Chicken & Waffles · Apple Tart Tatin with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream ~ All classes are participation style and include the class, a tour of the winery and culinary gardens (weather permitting), an appetizer reception and a three-course lunch paired with Cakebread Cellars wines. All participants leave with a Cakebread Cellars apron, a booklet of recipes and wine notes from the day, some great memories and quite often, new friends.
