We all have our go-to recipes, ones we’ve memorized and tweaked over the years and rely on—and here’s your chance to add some delicious new options to your repertoire with the person who literally wrote the book on the topic. Cookbook author, food writer and recipe developer Jessica Battilana is the author of the acclaimed “Repertoire: All the Recipes You Need,” and writes a bimonthly column by the same name for The San Francisco Chronicle. Her work has also been featured in Sunset, Martha Stewart Living, Rachael Ray Every Day among other publications and was included in the “Best Food Writing Anthology.”
Enjoy a morning working alongside Jessica in the kitchen creating a spring menu of dishes that are inspiring yet flexible, and learning her tips for making recipes your own. Then enjoy the fruits of your labor, paired with a selection of Cakebread wines. We’ll start with fancy toasts with pea smash and marinated feta, seeded rye gougères and an creamy onion tart with black olives, then sit down to a lunch of twice-baked magic soufflés, grilled harissa-honey chicken thighs and halibut kebabs with grilled bread served with roasted carrots with burrata and salsa rustica; and to finish, luscious individual pavlovas with lime curd and spring fruit.
All classes are participation style and include a tour of the property, a tasting of Cakebread Cellars wines (except for the children’s classes), the cooking class and a three-course lunch paired with wine. All participants leave with a Cakebread Cellars logo apron, a booklet of the recipes and wine notes from the day, some great memories and quite often, new friends.
