Perched 1,500 feet high on the slopes of Howell Mountain, our Dancing Bear Ranch is 194 acres of unspoiled natural beauty and panoramic views. We invite club members to join us for a memorable day on the ranch.
We’ll cook together for a few hours, both in the kitchen on the deck, to make our lunch before sitting down outside on the deck to enjoy our meal.
We’ll start with deviled eggs with candied bacon and pickled mustard seeds, vadouvan-spiced fried quail and lemongrass swordfish brochettes, then sit down to feast on cedar plank-grilled salmon with citrus barbecue sauce, little gem lettuces with cherry tomatoes, sweet corn and buttermilk dressing, grilled ribeye with pickled mushroom salad, and to finish, balsamic ice cream with hazelnut biscotti and strawberries.
With lunch you’ll enjoy the vista views of Napa Valley and a selection of Cakebread wines, including the site’s namesake, Dancing Bear Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon.
All classes are participation style and include a tour of the property, a tasting of Cakebread Cellars wines (except for the children’s classes), the cooking class and a three-course lunch paired with wine. All participants leave with a Cakebread Cellars logo apron, a booklet of the recipes and wine notes from the day, some great memories and quite often, new friends.
