Come join us as we play one of the nation’s foremost municipal golf courses. Situated atop cliffs towering above the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California, golfers marvel at the views of the coastline, deep ravines and classic championship golf holes. Widely known for its annual hosting of the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open event, it has also hosted the US Open in 2008 and will again in 2021. The South Course was redesigned by Rees Jones in 2001 and the North Course redesigned by Tom Weiskopf in 2016.
The accommodations for this event will be at the luxurious Lodge at Torrey Pines overlooking the Torrey Pines Golf Course with views of the Pacific Ocean. Ranked the #1 Hotel in the West by Sunset Magazine in 2018, this AAA Five Diamond rated resort will exceed expectations with world-class dining, a full-service spa and unprecedented service.
We kickoff the event with a Sip n’ Swing Reception on Wednesday, May 29 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Torrey Pines Driving Range. Enjoy Cakebread Cellars wine and hors d’oeuvre reception while learning from the pros on how to improve your driving, chipping and putting.
Thursday, May 30 will be a shotgun start at 7:30am for the Cakebread Cellars Cup Tournament playing the famed South Course at Torrey Pines with majestic views of the Pacific Ocean and the assistance of Forecaddies. After golf, a buffet luncheon served with Cakebread wines awaits you. Afterwards, you will have time to unwind at the resort enjoying many of the amenities should you choose. In the evening, a Vintner and Awards Dinner featuring Cakebread Cellars wines hosted by Dennis Cakebread and an awards presentation from the day’s golf match. Awards include the Best Team Score, Best Individual Score and Closest to the Hole.
Friday, May 31 will feature a shotgun start of 7:30am playing the North Course at Torrey Pines with comparable views and Forecaddies by our sides. Although there will be no prizes for the best score, bragging rights are still in play. We conclude our 3-day event with an outdoor buffet lunch served on the majestic Arroyo Terrace with Cakebread Cellars wines.
