Napa Valley
Winner of this year's 'Best Merlot' and a Double Gold medal is our 2008 Merlot was named in this year's San Francisco International Wine Competition. Over 4,100 wines from 1,200 wineries from over 29 countries were entered into this prestigious competition.

Deep, well-formed black cherry fruit sits at the heart of this one, and, if graced with complexing touches of dried herbs, there is nary a hint of "greenness" to be found. The wine is sturdy and fairly full on the palate with plenty of extract and a firm spine of gritty young tannins that begs comparison to Cabernet, but this is a serious Merlot that wants aging, and it promises to evolve famously for five or more years. Our 2008 Merlot was awarded one puff.

Just announced are the 2011 Riverside International Wine Competition awards. Our 2008 Merlot was awarded the Bronze medal.

The 2011 Pacific Rim Competition was held this April with over 1,400 wines from 300 wineries entered. In this 26th annual competition our 2008 Merlot was awarded a gold medal.
