Membership in one of our Wine Clubs means that you are guaranteed to receive many of our limited release wines. We have four clubs to choose from, the Bakers Club, the Classic Red Wine Club, the Cabernet Only Club, and the White Wine Club. We're delighted that you are interested in visiting our family owned winery. Each day we offer a variety of tastings and one daily tour to give you an inside look on how we craft our fine wine.

All of our tastings and tours are by appointment. They are conducted in various venues around the winery—in barrel rooms, in the fermentation room and occasionally alongside the vineyard or on a patio when production schedule and weather permits. Please call ahead to make an appointment; weekends and holidays book quickly, up to several days in advance.

We are a smoke-free environment for our guests and employees. This aligns with our fragrance-free and health & wellness goals for our business. The best environment in which to enjoy your wine tasting is one that is free from odors that interfere with appreciating all our wines have to offer. Enjoy a sumptuous sample of our current release wines.
This tasting requires approximately 45 to 50 minutes.

Wine Club Members - Appointments Encouraged

Daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tasting Fee: complimentary for member and 3 of their guests; member must be present.

Enjoy our fantastic featured wines in a private wine club area while you relax. During the beautiful days of summer, it’s commonly on our Sycamore Patio overlooking the winery’s courtyard.

 

White Wine Tasting

Offered daily at a variety of times, please call our Guest and Member Services team to inquire and to schedule your tasting.

Tasting Fee: $20.00 per person; $10.00 per person for wine club members.

Event Capacity: Maximum of 4 persons per group, 8 people total

Do you have a passion for white wines? Cakebread Cellars has long maintained a reputation for outstanding Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnays, and we are pleased to offer a tasting showcasing these exceptional wines. This tasting features five wines including our current release Sauvignon Blanc, and the opportunity to experience the current and library vintage each of our Napa Chardonnay and Carneros Chardonnay Reserve.
This tasting requires approximately 45-50 minutes.

 

Red Wine Tasting
By Prior Appointment Only

Offered daily at a variety of times, please call our Guest and Member Service team to inquire.

Tasting Fee: $30 per person; $20 per person for wine club members

Event Capacity: Maximum of 4 persons per group

Our guests will taste five fantastic red wines including a selection from our reserve Cabernet Sauvignons. This tasting is an ideal experience for red wine enthusiasts… don’t miss it!

 

 

Reserve Tasting
By Prior Appointment Only

Offered daily at 1:10 p.m., 2:10 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. Please call our Guest and Member Services team to schedule your tasting.

Tasting Fee: $40.00 per person; $20.00 per person for wine club members.

Event Capacity: Maximum of 6 persons per group, 8 people total

Do you have a passion for single vineyard and reserve wines? If you do, then don’t miss this opportunity to taste all four of our reserve level wines in one seating. We’ll be pouring our Chardonnay Reserve, Carneros; Benchland Select Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley; Vine Hill Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville, Napa Valley and the elusive Dancing Bear Ranch hailing from the Howell Mountain AVA. Please join us for this round-up tasting of our reserve wines.

This tasting requires approximately 45-50 minutes.

 

Library Tasting
By Prior Appointment Only

Daily at 1:00 and 2:30 p.m.

Tasting Fee: $35.00 per person; $20.00 per person for Wine Club members

Event Capacity: Maximum of 6 people per group, 8 people total

lEnjoy this exceptional tasting experience that includes four specially selected library wines aged in the Cakebread family’s cellar. This is a seated tasting in one of our premium venues here at the winery. These wines will be tasted in varietal-appropriate crystal stemware for maximum enjoyment. Our wine educator will lead you through this tasting with current tasting notes provided by our winemaker, Julianne Laks.

This experience requires approximately 60 minutes to complete. (Credit card payment required at time of booking, all attendees must be 21 years of age or older.)

 

 

 

Group Tasting Featuring Current Release Wines

Daily 10:15 a.m. and Monday thru Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Tasting Fee: $25.00 per person; $15 per person for wine club members

We are pleased to offer a group tasting for 7 - 12 people. This group tasting lasts approximately 60 minutes and is a private group tasting event. You will enjoy a terrific tasting of six of our current release wines.

In-Depth Educational Tour and Tasting
By Prior Appointment Only

Daily 10:30 a.m.

Tasting Fee: $25.00 per person; $15.00 per person for Wine Club members.

This experience requires approximately 90 minutes to complete. (Credit card payment required at time of booking, all attendees must be 21 years of age or older.)

Our Wine Educator will provide:


An opportunity to learn about winemaking, from the vine to wine.

An introduction to Napa Valley viticulture while strolling through our winery and adjacent vineyard including a discussion on what’s currently happening in the vineyard.

A summary of how Cakebread Cellars was birthed from a photo shoot to a world-class brand.

An overview of the winemaking process, winemaking techniques and other current day focuses such as culinary programs, Dolores’ garden and green winery practices.

A guided tasting of our celebrated wines in a casually elegant sit-down venue.

 

Wine & Food Pairing Experience
By Prior Appointment Only

When: Thursday & Friday (and Mondays in peak season) begins at 11:00 a.m. and concludes at 12:30 p.m.

Event Capacity: Maximum of 6 people per group, 12 people total

Experience Fee: $40.00 for person; $20.00 per person for Wine Club members.

The Cakebread Cellars staff invites you to participate in a new program created to enhance your ability to confidently match wines with food…we call it the "Wine & Food Pairing Experience!"

We begin with a 30-minute mini-tour of the winery then seat our guests for a 60-minute interactive wine food pairing. Our Resident Chefs create four fabulous recipes each season, using the freshest ingredients from our very own Cakebread garden. Guests are guided through four wine-food pairings, with a discussion relative to the components of the wine and food which create an Epicurean harmony. This understanding will allow you to fully appreciate and enjoy the characteristics of our wine.

Retail Sales

We are open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for New Year's Day, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.

We are located between Oakville and Rutherford on Highway 29 (St. Helena Highway), on the east side of the road, approximately ¾ of a mile north of Oakville and about ¾ mile south of Rutherford. We do not have a sign on the road; please look for our black mailbox that reads "Cakebread Cellars."
