Stephanie Jacobs is the Assistant Winemaker and Pinot Noir Project Leader at Cakebread Cellars.
Stephanie became interested in wine when she participated in a high school exchange program in France. There, she enjoyed local wines at meals. When she returned home to Corona del Mar, California, her family embraced her newfound love for wine and it became their passion.
When Stephanie entered the University of California at Davis, she was enrolled in Fermentation Science so she could pursue a career in brewing. As she took the required winemaking classes, it became clear to her that wine was what she wanted to pursue.
After Stephanie graduated from UC Davis, she began her career working at a small winery in the Sierra Foothills, learning about cellar operations and lab analysis. In 2001, she went to work for Bogle Vineyards as their Enologist.
Stephanie started working at Cakebread Cellars in March 2004 as the Enologist and was promoted to Assistant Winemaker in 2008. In 2012, she was promoted to the Pinot Noir Project Leader, which coincidentally, is her favorite varietal of Cakebread Cellars wines.
In addition to her duties here at Cakebread Cellars, Stephanie is a member of the Napa Valley Wine Technical Group. In her spare time, Stephanie can be found cooking or in her vegetable garden with her daughter, Mae. She also enjoys fishing and recently received her hunting license.
