Wine and honey. Yes, they can go together, so bring your sweetie and we’ll spend the day after Valentine’s Day showing you how.
Marshall Farms Honey’s own queen bee, Helene, will be on hand with a selection of her family’s varietal honeys (including one made from hives kept at Cakebread’s Milton Road vineyard) for us to sample and explore. Then we’ll put them to good use creating our delicious lunch, including several sweet and savory appetizers, followed by chorizo-crusted sea scallops, honey-bourbon barbecued quail and a sweet finale of cannoli filled with Bellwether Farms ricotta, honey and pistachios, all of which we’ll enjoy with a variety of Cakebread red and white wines.
All classes are participation style and include a tour of the property, a tasting of Cakebread Cellars wines (except for the children’s classes), the cooking class and a three-course lunch paired with wine. All participants leave with a Cakebread Cellars logo apron, a booklet of the recipes and wine notes from the day, some great memories and quite often, new friends.
