Educational Culinary Events-Programs

Cakebread Cellars offers a number of wine and food programs, from team-building exercises to classes and meals, that can be combined and tailored for your group.

Produce comes from our 3/4-acre vegetable garden, and we source other food products from a network of local food producers engaged in sustainable agricultural practices, allowing our chefs to offer each client a seasonal menu that pairs perfectly with our wines—the ultimate wine country experience.

Dinners

Barrel Tastings
Dinner groups of 10-20 guests may add a barrel tasting in the winemaker’s lab to their dinner. Guests take part in a side-by-side comparative tasting of samples drawn from barrel of individual varietals and lots that go into of our finished wines. Tasting in the lab gives guests an opportunity to gain a finer appreciation for how the winemaker crafts each of our wines. Wines offered change throughout the year, highlighting the cycles in winemaking and winery operations.
For 10-20 guests

Wine and Food Pairing Sessions
One of our chefs will guide your group through a tasting of four seasonal hors d’oeuvres and four Cakebread Cellars wines—and you take home the recipes! Learn how each hors d’oeuvre complements and enhances a selected wine, and how to apply those principals to your own cooking and entertaining. The hors d’oeuvres and wines offered are changed seasonally to take advantage of our gardens and other fresh, local ingredients. A tour of the cellar, vineyard and garden is included.
For 10-16 guests.

Cooking Classes
Cakebread Cellars’ hands-on cooking classes not only expand participants’ knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and wine-and-food pairing, they’re a great way to build camaraderie and open communication among group members in a fun and interactive activity. Cooking classes are held in our professional kitchen in the Winery House and include a tour of the winery and a wine tasting with hors d’oeuvres, before guests sit down to the three-course lunch or dinner that they prepared. Each participant also takes home the recipes and a Cakebread Cellars apron.
For 10-16 guests.

Hors d’oeuvres Cooking class
Our hors d’oeuvres cooking class is a great way for a small group to spend some time working together and alongside our chefs, sharpening their cooking skills and their knowledge on how to pair food with wine while picking up some great recipes without preparing or sitting down to a full meal.  Available as a single event, or pair it with a lunch or dinner. The class includes the recipes, a tour of the winery and a selection of wines to enjoy with the hors d’oeuvres.
For 10-16 people.

Wine Blending Seminar
Turn your group members into winemakers for a day, and engage them in a little friendly competition that builds camaraderie and team spirit. Guided by our events coordinator, teams compete against each other to develop the best wine blend, name their blend and design the wine label for it. A blind tasting of the finished blends determines the winning team. A tour of the winery is included, and this event can be paired with a lunch or dinner. For 10-30 guests.
