Sharing the pleasures of wine and food.
Since its founding in 1973 by Jack and Dolores Cakebread,
Cakebread Cellars has been renowned by wine trade
and consumers alike for its warm, gracious hospitality and world-class wines.
What still defines the winery is the family’s commitment to Jack and Dolores’ belief—and example—that wine and food elevate each other and in turn, make any meal or occasion even better.
As the winery has grown, the family has broadened its efforts of promoting and sharing the “pleasures of the table:” good food, good wines and good company. It is one of the few wineries with a full-time, in-house culinary department, dedicated solely to developing and executing educational programs, from wine-and-food pairing seminars and wine blending sessions, to participation cooking classes, lunches and dinners.
To make each group’s experience not only educational but memorable, the winery has an in-house professional staff of chefs, service staff, a gardener and an event coordinator. It also boasts a professional kitchen; a 3/4-acre garden for the chefs to draw from for meals and cooking classes; its own inventory of crystal stemware, fine china, beautiful linens and serviceware; and a number of on-site venues, indoor and out, that showcase not only the winery’s elegant, yet warm and understated style, but the serene beauty of the world-renowned Napa Valley.
We invite you to spend some time with us, learning about—and enjoying—the pleasures of the table.
