Wine Club Sign-Up
Join one of our Wine Clubs to receive Cakebread Cellars wines automatically shipped direct to you upon their release. Membership in one of our Wine Clubs means that you are guaranteed to receive many of our limited release wines. We have four clubs to choose from, the Bakers Club, the Classic Red Wine Club, the Cabernet Only Club, and the White Wine Club. August 20 & 21, 2010
Cakebread Cellars Regatta- America’s Cup Class Sailing Event
Newport, Rhode Island

Please join Dennis Cakebread for an exhilarating day of 12-meter sailing and racing that will take your breath away as you glide through the waters off the coast of Newport, Rhode Island. We’ve chartered four former America’s Cup yachts to hold our second Cakebread Cellars Regatta.  Be ready to man the main, hold the course and get ready to come about as with only 10 guests on each boat you will be an active participant in the race.  Bring your Ted Turner hats and get ready to swagger.

To kick off the event we’ll meet for a welcome reception at the Smokehouse Café in Newport, RI on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 6:00 pm. We’ll enjoy appetizers, a glass of wine and share tales from other high seas adventures.

Then, Saturday morning, we’ll be up and at ’em early to get out on the water by 9: 00 am. Following a thrilling day of sailing, we’ll retreat to the Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar for a fabulous vintner dinner hosted by Dennis Cakebread. 

Price: Sailing package is $575, only vintner dinner is $165. Prices are inclusive of tax, per person, a maximum of 4 persons in party

Harvest Dinner with Library Wines
At the winery

Harvest is a wonderful time to visit Cakebread Cellars as the weather is gorgeous, you can taste grapes right off the vines and smell the fermenting wine in the air throughout the valley. Please join us for a fantastic fall evening at our Harvest Dinner, hosted by the Cakebread family.

Before we sit down to a four-course seasonally inspired meal prepared by resident chefs Brian Streeter and Thomas Sixsmith, we anticipate using a wine thief to sneak a barrel sample as we stroll through the winery to check on the 2010 vintage. To make this night even more memorable, we’ll be pulling some favorite library vintages from our cellar to pair with the delicious menu.

Time: 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Price: $130 per person, plus tax. Maximum of 4 persons per party.

Taste of the Vintage
At the winery

Please join our winemaker, Julianne Laks, to survey the fruits of the 2010 harvest! Julianne will host this final event of the year which will include barrel tastings of the varietals harvested, a discussion of the impact Mother Nature has had on the development of the fruit crop and an enlightening explanation of the winemaking process.

Our Taste of the Vintage is a great education for both the mind and the palate. Whether you’re just beginning to learn about wine, or a savvy collector, this event is not to be missed.  Julianne will lead you through a technical tasting of several white and red wines with the purpose of studying the profile of individual lots, specific clonal selections and appellation characteristics.

As is our custom, after the tasting you’ll enjoy a fabulous lunch prepared by our resident chefs. The menu will be specifically designed to pair with a special selection of our wines.

Time: 9:45 am – 2:00 pm

Price: $85.00 person, a maximum of 2 persons in party

Reservation Policy

Please contact us to make reservations to any Wine Club event you'd like to attend.

1. Call us at (800) 588-0298 or send an email to events@cakebread.com to reserve your space. Generally, there is a maximum of 2 guests per membership.

2. We'll charge your credit card on file and send you a confirmation letter/ticket(s). State sales tax will be charged where applicable.

3. Tickets are non-refundable, but you may transfer your ticket(s) at any time. Please contact us so that we may acknowledge and record the transfer.

4. Please keep in mind that since these are adult events, minors may not attend.
